Jeremy Dixon is a lecturer in social work at the Department of Social and Policy Sciences at the University of Bath.
He has worked in a variety of mental health settings including forensic care and has also worked as an approved mental health professional.
His research interests focus around the sociology of mental health and illness and the sociology of risk and uncertainty. His work has focused on the perspectives of mental health service users and carers to mental health provision.
He is a board member of the International Sociological Association’s research committee on the sociology of mental health and illness.
Looks at how the forensic mental health system works and the role of forensic social workers within it when working with offenders with mental health problems in both secure hospitals and the community.
