Andrea MacLeod

Andrea MacLeod is a programme director for the autism (adults) CPD course at the University of Birmingham. This course offers part-time, online PGCert/MEd/Ad Cert qualifications specifically geared towards adult social care/adult education professionals.

Before taking up posts at the university she spent many years working in the voluntary sector, developing innovative models of support for adults with autism and Asperger syndrome, including self-advocacy groups, models of supported living and supported employment.

She is also a member of the Autism Centre for Education and Research (ACER) based within the University of Birmingham and has been involved in a number of research and educational projects related to the autism spectrum.

Andrea has a particular interest in outcomes for adults on the autism spectrum and has published in both academic and practitioner journals.
