Dr David Orr is a senior lecturer in social work at the University of Sussex, where his principal research interests focus on adult safeguarding and self-neglect, dementia and cross-cultural mental health.
He has carried out research in these and other fields for the Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE), Department of Health, Department for International Development, Skills for Care and International Medical Corps.
Before entering academia, he worked in community mental health teams in the areas of adult learning disability and older adult mental health.
