South Tyneside
Introduction
Welcome to South Tyneside Council’s Adults Social Services and Commissioning learning resources page.
Here you will find links to important documents, training, resources and strategies. It sets out our vision and priorities for the future and outlines what our workforce can expect from us, and in return what we expect from them.
One of the objectives of our Living Better Lives Strategy is to have a sustainable and skilled workforce. Our workforce is our greatest asset and staff need to feel valued for the work they do and the commitment they bring. Our ambition is to provide fully inclusive employment opportunities, offering career development and progression, so that we have a workforce providing high quality support, and who is responsive to a diversity of need across Adult Social Care and Commissioning.
Community Care Inform is an online tool providing practical guidance to support your professional practice and will help us cultivate a learning organisation. You will find a huge range of learning tools including podcasts, videos, and quizzes and well as expertly written content based on research, case law and legislation.
The content on this page is great for brushing up your knowledge on key areas of practice. To get you started we’ve linked below the Community Care Inform resources relating to the perennially important topic of safeguarding and we’ve also highlighted the opportunities to extend your learning at our own range of courses. In addition we’ve also listed the top 10 articles that our colleagues in South Tyneside were looking at on CC Inform last month – take a look and see if there are some articles that you might have missed. Equally, if you’re new in post, there is a wealth of information to help familiarise you with the organisation and how we work such as links to our intranet and -learning resources as well as a handy directory of our local services.
We know that the resources on Community Care Inform can prove invaluable when you are completing your CPD log for your annual Social Work England registration. More information on keeping your log and uploading your information to the Social Work England website can be found here.
If there are any areas that you would like to see featured on this page in future, please contact alex.webster@southtyneside.gov.uk.
