Northumberland Adults Service

Welcome to the Northumberland Adult Services Community Care Inform Page.

We are pleased to be able to share the new collaboration between Community Care Inform and the Northumberland Social Care Training team. This page will provide relevant local information for Social Workers and Care Managers working in Northumberland. It will cover a number of topics and areas which will be updated on a monthly basis.

Please take a look at our updated Professional Curiosity webinar. You will find the link below. We have also been doing a lot of work around Autism, Transitions and substance misuse. The link to the NICE webinar is also below.
After our 2023 Audit there has been a lot of work around the quality of our MCA assessments. Do take a look at Learning Together and book yourself onto the MCA training that is appropriate to your role. We are currently running Strength Based Assessment training with one available each month until October.

And lastly we are currently developing new training around self-neglect which will be one of the core subjects during our next Social Work Forum.

Please keep using and accessing community care inform as its such a valuable resource. Thank you again for all the work and support that you provide to our Northumberland residents.

Here are some of the quotes from Northumberland Social Workers on how they use CC Inform!

It is so simple to access, and the topics and articles are easy to find. Some articles are longer and more in depth and will take longer to read but I feel I can utilise just a few minutes here and there to dip in and out of articles. I sometimes save an interesting article on my Homepage to refer to quickly if I have a few minutes.

I have also found many of the articles useful while completing BIA training and in supporting students in the new Social Work Academy.

I find CC Inform extremely useful to keep up to date with what is happening within the social work arena. I tend check CC inform prior to my team meetings so that I can take relevant and up to date information to share with my team. The articles are well written in a format that we are able to easily read, understand and digest.

I often find myself drawn in by the ‘In the Spotlight’ e mails that are sent out by CC Inform on a regular basis. Most recently I received one in regards to working with adults with self-neglect, this topic is extremely relevant to my team and the information within this article will help my social workers to better understand how to positively and meaningfully work with self-neglect cases. Again, I will be taking this article to my next team meeting so that we can fully take this on board and discuss specific cases that may be relevant to this topic.

It’s easy to find things and its really relatable in terms of the articles on the site.  I tend to use the Practice Guidance and Research sections and if I’m not sure about something or want some more information on a topic I tend to look on the CC Inform to see if there’s any notes or guidance to help,

I also like the learn on the go podcast series. I tend to use it when I’m not sure about what to do because it tends to have a lot of examples which directly relate to practice which makes it easy to see how they could work (or not) with my own work.
